About these dates and times
Where the dates come from
Expected first fast: Tuesday, February 9, 2027, based on Bangladesh's latest moon sighting (Jumādā al-Ūlā began on October 13, 2026). Ramadan begins on the announcement of the National Moon Sighting Committee, so the date may still change by a day. Once the committee announces, this calendar will follow its date.
The last fast and Eid al-Fitr depend on the sighting of the Shawwal moon.
How the times are found
Times are calculated with the Karachi method (Fajr at 18°).
The 30th fast
Ramadan has 29 or 30 days. If the Shawwal moon is not seen on the evening of the 29th fast, a 30th fast is kept (Bukhari 1909). Once the moon is announced, the row stays or goes.
★ The odd nights
Laylat al-Qadr is sought in the odd nights of the last ten (Bukhari 2017). The Islamic night comes before its day: the night of the 21st begins at the iftar of the 20th fast. The star marks the fast that follows each odd night.
Your local masjid
Suhoor ends 3 minutes before Fajr; iftar is 3 minutes after sunset; matched to the Islamic Foundation Bangladesh timetable. Your local mosque may differ by a few minutes; for congregational prayer, follow your mosque.
Zakat al-Fitr amounts
Islamic Foundation's national fitra committee announces the amounts each Ramadan. We show them with the date and a link once they are announced; until then the sheet shows last year's figures, marked as such. Islamic Foundation, 1447 AH (announced February 25, 2026): Tk 110 to Tk 2,805 per person.
